Our Provisional Patent and the Technology We’re Building
Dhereputics holds a provisional patent (PP 2026905162) for a glucose-responsive insulin delivery platform designed for subcutaneous administration. At its core, the concept explores whether insulin delivery can be made responsive rather than scheduled, meaning the system would react to changes in blood glucose rather than relying on fixed dosing intervals or external decision-making.
The platform integrates biodegradable PLGA polymers, glucose-responsive hydrogel systems, and nanoparticle-based drug delivery architectures into a single engineered structure. Together, these components are designed to create a controlled environment where insulin release can be modulated in response to physiological glucose fluctuations. While still in early development, this represents a shift away from traditional insulin delivery methods and toward a more adaptive, biologically responsive system.
The provisional patent forms the initial foundation for this work, protecting the core architecture as we continue to explore how these materials behave together and whether they can be engineered into a reliable therapeutic platform.
