What We’re Building
Dhereputics has theoretically developed a glucose-responsive insulin-delivery vessel, engineered to address diabetes management.
The vessel is designed to autonomously detect blood glucose and glucagon fluctuations and provide a rapid pulsation of insulin release when directly required. Leading to only two patient-administered injections per year, designed to provide sustained glucose and insulin control.
Long-Acting Self Injectable Solution
Our concept centres on a self-administered injectable solution designed with convenience and long-term usability in mind. With a proposed six-month duration, the product aims to reduce the need for frequent administration while supporting a more manageable user experience.
Advanced Hydrogel Delivery System
Our concept explores the use of hydrogel-based materials within a controlled delivery system. The design focuses on supporting sustained performance over time while enabling a simple and effective method of administration.
Translating Concept Into Clinical Testing
Our concept is progressing toward clinical evaluation, where further testing will be undertaken to assess safety, effectiveness, and practical application. This phase will provide the evidence base needed to inform future development and refinement.
Our Story
The idea began when co-founder Ben Parker was working on a project alongside a close friend living with Type 2 diabetes. Observing the daily challenges of managing the condition highlighted how often treatment requirements, such as insulin administration, can interrupt everyday activities including meetings, study, and work. This experience prompted early thinking around whether aspects of treatment delivery could be improved to better support daily life.
The concept became more defined after Ben met co-founder Gemma Grafton, where the idea was further developed through collaboration and shared interest in healthcare innovation. Together, they explored how innovation in treatment delivery could reduce disruption and improve accessibility for individuals managing long-term conditions.
Their shared goal is to contribute to solutions that enhance quality of life, reduce the burden of ongoing care, and support a more practical and patient-centred approach to healthcare.
